ST. JOHN AT WACO, NEBRASKA KNOWS HOW TO HAVE A MISSION FESTIVAL!!
On November 6th at St. John Lutheran Church the rural congregation south of Waco, Nebraska a special Mission Festival Sunday was held. It was a very, very special day, because the Lord blessed the day with a wonderful miracle.
This congregation brought a group of people to Mission Central on November 19th, 2010 and they helped to commission and send Rev. Mark Eisold, the first pastor to be sent to Peru to establish the first Lutheran Church in the mountains in Peru. What a blessing to have this opportunity.
When Missionary Gary spoke at the Mission Festival on Sunday the 6th of November, he featured Anthony DiLiberto, the young man that is working with Rev. Eisold down near Lima Peru, and he was at Mission Central speaking in our Barn on November 2nd, and was so desperate for support.
In the Mission Presentation pictures were shown of the work of Anthony among the people in Peru, and the congregation saw the work of the Holy Spirit in this part of the world as the Lord is opening up this new country for the Lord Jesus. They saw baptism pictures, and children's VBS pictures, and what a JOY to see the new contacts being made in this country. The members of the congregation were truly moved by this report, and wanted to have a free will offering for Anthony DiLiberto. This amazing congregation provided a gift of $13,320.00 for this missionary. It made Old Missionary Gary cry.
Here you see the missionaries at St. John gathered for the report and also as they had a wonderful Mission Festival meal, with such an amazing variety of food! It is with the help of dear Pastors like Rev. Paul Kern and his wife Kathy that something like this can happen! These dear friends will always have a special place in the hearts of all of us at Mission Central.
