ORPHAN GRAIN TRAIN A WONDERFUL PARTNER OF MISSION CENTRAL
It was such a blessing to see that Arnie Otten, one of our volunteers here at Mission Central is also a helper and volunteer for our good friends at Orphan Grain Train of Norfolk, Nebraska. Arnie lives in York, Nebraska and also drive the big truck for the Orphan Grain Train. On May 12th, 2011, Arnie was on a mission to come to Mapleton, Iowa where many supplies and relief materials were brought by the Orphan Grain Train to assist the community in it's recovery from one of the most devistating tornados in this communities history.
While in the community, Arnie, drove out to Mission Central, and here you see the huge truck of the Orphan Grain Train on the campus of Mission Central. The Miracle of April 9th, 2011, was the fact that less than a mile away, the tornado was headed straight east of Mapleton for Mission Central and at the very last minute the tornado lifted and completely missed the buildings and campus of Mission Central. No damage was sustained in any way and what a real miracle of God's protecting hand.
Mission Central and Orphan Grain Train both operate with many, many volunteers, and at the present time Mission Central has a staff of 58 volunteers. What a blessing that these two organizations can work together on many projects.
