WHAT IS MISSIONARY WORK ALL ABOUT AT NEWHALL, IOWA?
Recently, Old Missionary Gary had the privilege of visiting the Missioanry Church of St. John Lutheran Church at Newhall, Iowa. Their pastor is Rev. Steve Rempfer, a very, very, very "not normal" pastor! What a blessing to receive a gift of $5,000.00 for the building of the first new congregation at Ban Lok Ko and Phrae in northern Thailand among the Hmong People! This congregation has agreed to provide another $5,000.00 for the second location of these two new churches also. Therefore on the morning of May 18th, 2010, the gift of $5,000.00 for the building of the first location will be sent to St. Louis under Project #62004, Line 16 "St. John Project for Ban Lok Ko and Phrae in Thailand". Dr. Ross Stroh, our Missonary Treasurer in St. Louis will wire the funding direct to the Honorable Missionary Rev. Carl Kaye, who is totally and completely in charge of this project! What a joy to alert the folks that they can wire these funds!
However, the Mission work at Newhall, Iowa is not just for Thailand, as Rev. Rempfer informed me of an amazing event that will take place at St. John on Sunday the 23rd of May....the baptism of Missionary Robbie DeVenney, who will receive the blessing of a new home in heaven, by the washing of regeneration through the water and word of the Holy Spirit! This young man was so excited! Here pictured is "not normal" Pastor Steve Rempfer and his newest Missionary addition to the family there at St. John, New Missionary Robbie DeVenney!
