NEW ADDITION TO MUSEUM FROM MONGOLIA
What a blessing to receive one of the most unusual pieces for our Mission Museum at Mission Central. Just today were were presented with one of the traditional musical instruments of Mongolia. This instrument is somewhat like a violin and it is called a Morin Khuur. The people have played this musical instrument in Mongolia for thousands of years...and few have seen anything like this outside the country.
This new addition was given by Mikayla Layne, our missionary who just returned from extensive travels in Mongolia searching for Christians, and touching the lives of people in "darkness". What a JOY to have this very rare piece for the Museum. Our Secretary, Pam Kovarna, is holding the instrument with it's bow in the picture, and also pictured is the Script from Mongolia that says in their language...."Thank You"....
The beautifully carved horses head and dragon head on the wooden handle of the musical instrument is an indication of the craftmanship that went into the creation of this instrument.
