GIFTS PRESENTED TO ST. MATTHEW AND THE TOWN OF MAPLETON FROM MANY PARTNERS AT MISSION CENTRAL
It was a very, very special day at Mission Central on May 16th, 2011. We were so blessed to have two special guests come to our offices for a presentation. Yes, for the last weeks, since the tornado struck the town of Mapleton, Iowa on April 9th, 2011 many, many, many people have sent gifts to Mission Central to be presented to the Town of Mapleton and to St. Matthew Lutheran Church to be used by the most needy families in the community.
Mayor Fred Standa of Mapleton, Iowa was present to receive a large gift and also, Pastor Scott Jensen, the Pastor of St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Mapleton, Iowa came out to receive a large gift also. These gifts came from all over the United States and what a blessing for the people who need these gifts of love. Special Committees have been formed by the community to receive grant applications and then the members of the committee will examine the requests and provide assistance to the most needy families that have lost so much in this devestating storm.
