AN LWML MIRACLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HILLS OF WESTERN IOWA
When Marilyn Schroder, President of Iowa District West LWML began to talk about a "Prayer Retreat" at Mission Central, we wondered how many would "venture out" and come to this location, and we had expected that there would be about 50!....and Marilyn said, "Gary, I'm praying for 100!" So many times we under estimate God's power and blessing! As the event grew closer, we begin to realize that there would not be 50 or 100........but as the count begin to rise to 180 and then over 200, we begin to think....how are we going to handle them all! When the count hit 225 we realized that the barn at Mission Central would be very, very, very full. And so, the registration was stopped at 225, and the staff begin to plan. First major problem was how are we going to feed 225 people?
Then President Schroeder agreed that we could provide everyone with a sandwich, chips, and a bar with a mint and a some refreshment! This enabled us to feed all the folks in the barn, and it worked out just fine! God helped us all with the planning there also. Gary provided 6 tours for folks who wanted to see the office complex, and what a joy to see the excitment of the members of the LWML. It all worked so well, and what a joy to welcome Mr. Jeff Craig-Meyer the department head of World Mission support Unit from St. Louis, who came to spend the night at Mission Central on October 31st, 2008, and then to be an "eye witness" of the Huge LWML Event of November 1st, 2008. When the staff ladies, counted the number of sandwiches eaten, the count was EXACTLY 225!
All those attending so much enjoyed the prayer time...the great Bible Studies and Devotions, and the absolutely great and most humorus skits that were provided! It was truly a blessed day that 225 people will never, never, never forget. God truly blessed the day with sun and wonderful temperatures...Thanks so much Lord for making this one of the most blessed events in the history of our Iowa District West LWML!
