| The Fialas - Missionaries to Slovakia | |

At just the right time, God has just the right people in our lives. Recently Missionaries David and Radka Fiala and their little baby Vashik came to visit Mission Central. (see their picture). Their story is one that truly points to the fact that God is totally in charge of our lives and the people that we meet. Several years ago, David Fiala was called to teach at the Lutheran High School in Tisovec, Slovakia, after graduating from Concordia University in Seward. He went there and met a Slovak student by the name of Radka. This young lady wanted more than anything else to tell others about Jesus her Savior, and as God's timing and plan would have it, she met David.
They went back to Seward and Radka finished four years at Concordia, and then the both of them felt the calling to go back to the same school where Radka attended at Tisovec, Slovakia. This is the Lutheran High School, where many of our LCMS members went to work on this school building a number of years ago. Now they are beginning their second year as full time instructors. Missionary Laurie Lenz, from Algona, Iowa will join them to teach for the school year 2006-2007.
When they spent several days at Mission Central, all who came were amazed at the little baby from Slovakia, named Vashik. He smiled all the time and was the happiest baby we have ever had to visit Mission Central! If you look closely at the picture you will see the little smile that was always present during those days here in their mission home at Mission Central. God is using these young people the change the lives of students who have never heard the name Jesus and don't understand God's love, grace and forgiveness and the assurance of our enternal home in heaven. What a blessing to welcome these missionaries!
