WORKERS COME ALL THE WAY FROM CONWAY, ARKANSAS TO HELP!
The evening of June 20th, 2011 was a night that we will long remember at the Gary and Maxine Thies home! The wind and rain came in sheets and huge puffs. Yes, we wondered about Mission Central across the road, but we heard cracks and trees falling. When the morning of June 21st came we could see 6 large trees down in our yard at our home.....but, when we looked across at Mission Central....things were in good shape once more! At our home and in our home yard it was covered with limbs and huge trees had been uprooted, and it was a disaster zone.
On June 21st, we had scheduled to have a group of about 17 people coming from Peace Lutheran Church at Conway, Arkansas. When this group of special missionaries arrived, we were so happy that they were willing to help haul limbs and branches to the creek! These young people and adults worked so hard and what a big help they were. Here is a picture of this famous group of Missionaries helping and they are pictured by one of the big trees that blew down at our home.
After the work period, they enjoyed a trip to the Museum and the barn, and then they finished with a visit with the World Famous "Wayside Chapel" and what a great time it was for these young people. We had such a great time together. God bless you dear friends and helpers, who came at "just the right time" to help us. The Lord sends helpers when they are truly needed!
