SPECIAL BAND OF BROTHERS AND SISTERS SAY GOOD-BYE TO OUR FRIENDS PASTOR EUGENE AND VIVIAN ERNST
It was a sad and yep happy time to all be together for one more time. Yes, a very close group of our Iowa District West Pastors and friends came together at Aurelia, Iowa for a special event! It was an wonderful evening "Fish Fry" that was held at the home of Rev. Larry and Marge Lemke. The purpose of the evening was to say farewell to Rev. Eugene and Vivian Ernst, who are moving to Columia, Indiana to be closer to their family as they make plans for their retirement. Pastor Lemke, one of the greatest fisherman in the entire state of Iowa had "collected" a good supply of fish and with his world famous batter, deep fried some of the most mouth watering selections. Everyone enjoyed the meal so much and when Rev. Ernst and Vivian were asked what gift they would like for their "going away gift"....they indicated they would like the gift to be given to support a missionary at Mission Central! This small group all decided that they would take a little offering and the offering in honor of the Ernst Family came to nearly $1100.00!!!! What a blessing to see that God can use such a small group of people on one evening to help in such a special way! We send our love and blessing to Pastor Ernst and Vivian, and thanks so much for your great "farewell gift" that will be used to send a family to tell people about Jesus our Lord and Savior. All of us in Iowa District West will miss the Ernst Family, but we know that where ever they go they will continue to tell people about Jesus, our Savior. Here is the picture of the "not normal" group that came together for one last time!
