AMAZING "NOT NORMAL" MISSIONARIES FROM ST. PAUL IN ANKNEY COME TO MISSION CENTRAL
What a blessing to welcome the saints and special "not normal" missionaries from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ankeny, Iowa to Mission Central on July 20th, 2011. Yes, you really understand the words of the Apostle Peter in 1st Peter 2:9 in the King James version of the Bible where he says, "we are to be a PECULIAR people!" Only "peculiar" people would brave the 100 degree temperatures and come to help paint at Mapleton, Iowa in helping with the tornado damage. Yes, and then to come in the afternoon heat to visit old Mission Central. What a blessing!
Pastor James Frendandez and his group of 11 brave souls came to Mission Central at 1:15 PM and spent the afternoon learning some of the amazing things that God is doing in HIS world of missions. They begin their trip at the little wayside prayer chapel, where the entire group of 12 each had a seat in the chapel. The Message for the day was the fact that the "Lord's arms are not too short" and HE CAN DO ANYTHING...just as HE has done here at Mission Central. Then the group toured the office complex and then went to the fellowhship hall to learn of the most recent develpments in the Lord's mission. They then enjoyed a tour of the Musuem, and finally had some refreshments. It was a day that many will NEVER forget, and what a JOY to welcome these dear missionaries. They had their picture taken at the sign before they left. What a JOY to have this group work and set up the new Hymnals that were donated to Mission Central from the Orphan Grain Train.
